At the ripe age of 16, Chad worked in an agency in London, Ontario. Beginning his career in design as a co-op student, Chad worked his way up to becoming a junior graphic designer within a year working with clients like Air Canada, Johnson and Johnson, Kushies and many other tier 1 companies. He learned all he needed to know about copiers, paper quality and type, printing presses, pre-press, and design software.
He continued his education at George Brown College in Toronto. With high grades, a full class schedule, and a great set of instructors, Chad’s excelled at GBC with top grades and a promising outlook. Before entering his third year at George Brown, he was offered a full time position at the University of Toronto as an Art Director.
Being a math and science nerd, it was only a matter of time before the internet and websites became the focus of his career. He taught himself the most frequently used web application and database languages such as PHP and MySQL; achieved expert level knowledge in Adobe Suite and a slew of CMS (content management system) platforms. Chad is currently the Web Architect for Information + Technology Services at the University of Toronto.
Melanie first entered the design world at a very young age. It came naturally to associate colour combinations and a compulsion to lay things out in an orderly fashion. She attended Mohawk College for their Web Development Program and received top honours. In 2002 she attended George Brown College for web development and print design and completely fell in love with print design and what it had to offer her.
She quickly honed and perfected her skills as a graphic designer, learning programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign then expanded her knowledge of commonly used design applications to include the full Adobe Suite.
Melanie learned what she needed to know to run a business by trial and error.
Her current interests are in the print publication world.
